I can remember about 10 years ago i did a Miniart dio kit......one of those vacform bases with a section of ruined building and all the bits like roof and gutters and doors etc were injection moulded

It was an easy way to make something to use as a back drop to take pictures

Thought about doing another but it seems Miniart no longer do them

When did they stop doing them?......they had lots of different ones in the range......and why did they stop doing them?.... always seemed a good seller

Any one know?

I think you can still get them?
Also google redoguk, they seem to do a few base type dioramas.
Cheers

Amazon also seem to do a few model based (ebay will probably have a few too) and FOG (Fields of Glory) also do a few.

Thing with redog and fog it is just bases.....sort of plaster cast.....the miniart ones you got buildings and all the bits included.....vacform...... i was just curious to when and why they stopped

They were the sort of thing you would have loved......everything you need for a dio in one box

I think Miniart still do the buildings, saw a French Cafe when I was looking for something else the other day.

Yep, I do have a ready built dio, an old Airfix one, with part of a road and part of a bridge, not built it yet, but TBH I am also quite liking just making my own bases/dio's too. I'm quickly learning you can pretty much build anything out of foam, card and filler, Lol....

Just looked on the SMS website, John has a few miniart kits listed, some out of stock, but if you ask him, he may be able to get new stock, eg: he has a couple of building ruins, a church ruin, village stall, Norman st, Euro barn house, if you search for" miniart ruin", he has 12 kits listed, all out of stock, but I'm sure he could probably get them?
