Very old 1/25 scale MRC model. Was almost started many years ago, so some stuff off sprues but nothing glued. Decals have gotten wet at some point & will be the biggest challenge. Everything is body color red or chrome except rubber tires.

Sorry about sprue shot as I didn't have room to spread them & loose pcs. out. I may display this as "used race car for sale" if decals turn out too rough.

Batteries dead in camera, but proceeded to paint & assemble engine. Painted frame & assembled rear diff. & suspension.

That looks a very old kit Paul. It's also a very different scale to your usual modelling. It will be interesting to see how you get on.

Tried my phone. Seems a lot smaller image, but color, depth & focus look OK.

Probably Bob. Maybe just paint over as an aging process to support the notion of an old campaigner found in a barn now for sale 'as is'.

Fantastic choice paul , the 57 is a proper icon . Love the idea of a barn find racer , cant wait to see the progress , cheers tony

Great concept for a build, I've never done anything like that so far. Always present mine as pristine showroom vehicles.
Very much looking forward to this.

Sorry Paul, I missed the start of this. Now that is a blast from the past and from MPC to boot. Now tell us, how does it feel to build a model without having to use a microscope, my friend? Must be a little different for you......

Ahh!!! MPC, AMT, Monogram, Revell and IMC car model kits.......Those were the days back in the 60's!!!...

Construction complete. Decals were a bust, got way too wet so no glue left to enhance, as stuck/cured to paper. Scalemates was no help there. Moving on w/IMG_0364.jpgdulling down the brightwork before weathering. This was likely in a Modified class before converting to Gas class w/new replacement chassis, supercharged big block, tube front axle & flip fiberglass front end. Prolly ran out of money before upgraded narrowed diff., tubbed rear and removal of rear seat. Why we stayed in Modified classes.

Allen, check out Vintage Gassers & how they sound on Utubes. Usually limited to pre 67 racers. Brings back awesome racing memories.

Awesome Paul always liked this kit by MPC. They re-leased this kit a couple years ago Round 2 might can help with the decals they have some in there store on line.
