I couldn't agree with you more Sir, I think it's a huge shame and to be honest it has soured this forum a bit for me now and no longer seems to be the happy place I thought it was...\ said:I think we've lost something from the forum today ! Simon didn't think of this forum as just a bunch of people talking about models he saw like a community where everyone got on and he saw people as friends than just postersSimon is a good guy and if he did get carried away it was due to the friendly nature of this forum.
Maybe if the posters who reported him had thought about talking to him personally this all could of been avoided
Mate I know what you meen , I've been on forums along time and I have seen this happen on everyone of them and it's always the good guy that ends up the victim.\ said:I couldn't agree with you more Sir, I think it's a huge shame and to be honest it has soured this forum a bit for me now and no longer seems to be the happy place I thought it was...Andy...
Andy there is no need to go down this route. It would become a 'witch hunt' of sorts and this is not what this forum is about. Colin has kindly come forward to put his point of view across. Others may not be willing to, as is their right.\ said:It would be nice if those who reported him would come forward and tell us why they did it, as I don't want to "upset" them by posting anything on their threads...Andy...
You just said it in your first and last sentence, Al. Chit chat is ok but this forum is, for me, a place to talk about modelling with other modellers.\ said:Paul. Chit chat is ok in moderation. But there were one or two threads where the original topic was totally lost and then 3/4 of the remaining thread was taken up by 'chatter'.When people start complaining to admins about their threads being taken over by chit chat then we are obliged to ask the concerning person to calm it down a little. it appears that Si wasn't able to accept that and has left.
At the end of the day it is up to the OP (original poster) to say whether their thread has served it's purpose etc etc. As admins we can always lock it to stop further comments being added. But i for one don't want to go down that route as i want this forum to remain a friendly helpful place where we can come to chill and talk about our hobby.
so if its unwritten how the hell do you know if you have broken it????\ said:. Unfortunately there is an unwritten etiquette regarding forum use to which was crossed.
Hi Rick,\ said:You just said it in your first and last sentence, Al. Chit chat is ok but this forum is, for me, a place to talk about modelling with other modellers. If it's something else you're after there's Spacebook and Poutube.....or the pub.
