I learnt today that Revell paint, supplied with model, does not mix with Tamiya paint. Revell 05 Matt white and Tamiya X2 white 50/50 goes like paste in no time at all. The inside of my turret looks like it’s been artexed.
and learned it is only compatible with it's own thinners!
the chap in the shop advised it to be compatible only with X20.
Not ruined Jim but lesson learnt.Hi Gary
You've learned the hard way that Tamiya is not a true acrylic. Tamiya and water based acrylics don't like each other. I've been there, done that and got the tee-shirt :rolling:
I hope your model is not ruined.
Jim
Ooh, I didn't know that.Mr Color and Tamiya paint are intermixable as well.
Reminds me of my early painting days which is why I stick to one manufacturer of paint (Vallejo air and model colour)I learnt today that Revell paint, supplied with model, does not mix with Tamiya paint. I avoided mixing brand names very quickly even though some mix happily!
As for your artex issue, I'd leave it and simply describe it as:
