Morning Mobear & hope you enjoy it here.

I would have a good look at John's Shop. Just click on the Scale model Shop at the top of the page. All segregated into Manufacturers & scale.

Just finished a Revell Mosquito 1/48. Lots of problem with poor fit but I think they have just released a new one. Tamiya also do this one but more expensive.

With you on the arthritis really mostly legs in my case. But managed to keep it at bay using what they call Insulated underwear. I call them Long Johns causes a laugh in my family but they have worked miracles hardly a pain.

If you want a big kit with plenty of detail to paint you should be able to find the Revell 1/32 Ju88 for about 30 quid. It is outstanding value for money. Alternatively have a look at some online model shops, definitely start with John at the forum shop, and maybe read a few online reviews/builds. If you see something that takes your fancy you could do worse than asking the members here for an unbiased opinion of the kit. There's a good chance someone will have had a bash at it.

Good luck with the Belle, don't forget we all love a photo!

Cheers

I second that with the JU88, got one in my stash..... I spent more on aftermarket bombs, bomb racks, swastikas and paint masks than the kit cost - but you don't have to do that to get a good model.

Hey Mobear, welcome to the forum.

Just a thought, have you tried Evil-bay.

Theres a 1:48 Tamiya Spitfire for £16.00 and a 1:48 Tamiya Mustang for £16.50 on there at the moment.

Hope this helps.

Tony.

It's what we call eBay. It's not really called evilbay.

Just a quick mention of another 1/32 Revell kit you should be able to get for about £25 - their Arado Ar 196. Vaughan's just finishing off his version of this and it looks excellent value for that sort of money.

There's also lots of other large scale stuff available on ebay. It might be worth checking reviews on some of the older kits though before you buy as some of them are either poorly detailed, or need lots of skills to build well.

'Tis a noble thing you do there Lewis. Very well done to you Sir.

Once Mobear has finished his P-38 the Ar196 proposed by Gern does indeed look to be a very nice kit. I've been following Vaughan's build and can't believe I didn't think of it!

Cheers
