Hi All, I came across a picture on line a while back and thought it would be good to try and replicate it. There are only one or two pictures I can find, so there will be a lot of guess work and poetic licence.

It shows a vehicle modified into a mobile work station, used by the Australian 1st Div in Burma. I will be using the Tamyia Jeep as the base.

This will push my scratchery to the limits but it should be fun.

cheers
Scottie

Only the Aussies can come up with such a field modification...interesting. If anybody can do it it's you Scottie. Pulling up a chair for this. Any tea and biscuits?

Cheers,
Wabble

...at some point the Jeep incorporated a power take-off. I'm aware of many uses post-war, but am unsure when it was incorporated. I imagine it would require another stick to engage/disengage. Neat idea.

Now that is different Paul.Chair pulled up for this mate.Im wondering if say Miniart might maybe have some factory or engineering type equipment in their range. But thats my way out being lazy and not so au fait with scratchbuilding like yourself and Mike.

Good t have you along mate. You could and I may well do build a raft of Jeeps with modifications. Always tea and biscuits mate and preference?

Paul, the transfer box in the kit while being very simplistic does have the PTO part. And the cab floor had the moulded cover that could be removed. As to the PTO lever that's a good point I will have to check the pictures.

Work has started. I have removed or filled the moulded parts of the tub ready for the scratch work and PE later. Referring to Pauls previous post. One item in the PE was the access cover plate for the PTO. So I have opened it up and drilled the four bolt holes around the edge.

Just stumbled on to this Scottie, do you ever sleep? Looking forward to this result as I do with all your other outcomes!

So, you are off on another epic bout of scratchery. This should keep you busy for a while. Will follow avidly.
John.

Just caught this one in time Paul, a nice start and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work on this.
