Greeting from Race Towers.

The grounds have been mowed, front boarders weeded and the driver as well , not a weed in sight, until tomorrow morning !

As I'm running out of branches another gathering has taken place, resulting in two full trays being produced .
Currently sitting in the cave on the spray table being double stacked and some weights on the top layer. Going to sit there for 2 days until pressing.

One tray stacked on top .

Some baking paper soaked and weighted down .

C & C Welcome , thanks for looking in.

I did save some from the last batch Monica but of course so much gets lost as you dry them out on the paper towels. Think I had to mix about 1/2 a LTR this time , that would be 1 part glycerine and supposedly 2 part's water , but this time I made it a bit stronger to see the results .
As Aus has such strict import regulations regarding plants and seeds I don't know if you could even buy them out there .

ta thats good to know, its reusable ,see that you don,t put to much in at one time as well,so that would help keep the shape of them also,
some things we can get over hear, the asparagus fern ,that one yes as it dose grow hear some other things not to sure on,I think
as long as there been treated they fine,

To day spent more time building up the branches, shall get a start on the other 3 as waiting for the new cuttings to soak so the smaller off cuts will find as use.

2020_cra1.jpg

As I did't put any green cooking dye in the mix I shall have to give a well controlled mist with the green Vallejo. Pleased with the out come.

The young out door ferns are also enjoying the sun .

Brilliant work (greenhouses and trees!),
Thank you Peter, those were perhaps the happiest days at work, just asked to do it by the land agent and left alone to get on with it, paid on time, fun but hard at times.

Thank you Richard, now there a thing to sculpt :surprised::smiling3:

John.

Hi John
That greenhouse refurb looks superb. Very skilled work.
As for the fern trees they are certainly realistic. Would it be an idea to spray the fronds lightly with colour before fixing them to the trunk. Mind you I reckon a mist over when the tree is done would be just fine.

Yes it probably would Jim .
I often find that in the excitement of doing things like this things get out of step:confused: !
I'd even mentioned to Allen when we had been talking about the painting of ferns that I would use darker greens and the base and lighter towards the top . Went clean out of my plan as I removed them from the press. So keen to get them fixed, so now the next best thing will be to do that mist coat .
When the next load come out of the press that's the first thing that will be done .!

Great progress John. While catching up I flashed on 'Teddybears Picknic' & "the Holy Handgrenade". Still paying for 60s abuses I guess. PaulE
