Later this month we finally move into our new home! Significant in many ways but relevant to me in that I'll get a dedicated modelling space! A room for myself to indulge in scale modelling and other related pursuits! After being mostly in the modelling wilderness for over a year I 'literally' can't wait!

Miko (love the smell of the stash in the morning)

Nice, good luck with the move, hope it all goes smoothly, I know moving can be very stressful!
Having your own "man space" is essential IMHO.
I am really lucky as I have a nice garage full of tools for tinkering and fettling, plus our smallest bedroom, which was my study when I worked from home with a desk for my laptop, etc, but that room is now my modelling space.
Just remember, no matter how much space you have..... you will fill it up! Lol... 8-)

Thanks for your messages guys. it's true moving home can be very stressful but I'm looking forward to getting in my new space, so much so I even dreamed about it last night, I never normally remember dreams at all?!?!

I'm looking forward to my first build being a 1 : 1 scale 'modelling room' I have in the stash right now, although there is some assembly required including glueing and painting I'm hoping for not too much scratch building filing and sanding! Ha!

Miko (be nice to complete those half built kits I have nipping at my modelling conscience)

The modelling room is coming together, hoping to get sorted in a day or two

Finding a place for all those indispensable items that rarely get used but too good to throw away!!

(could just be me?)

The stash cupboard will be full when I've unpacked all those kit purchases from over the years!

I got the natural daylight strip fitted!

Been a while, too long really!

Looks like a good modelling space Miko. When it's all organised and you're ready to start again, you will have a reinvigorated passion to build

You're gonna need some shelves on that wall behind the table!

Hey Gern, I was considering using Ikea 'Lack' floating shelves, maybe two or three stacked about 8'' (20cm) apart for display purposes, they are about four foot long (120cm) so should allow for quite a few builds to be displayed, I'm limited to displaying in our living space to just 'one'!! Which is fair enough I suppose, missus Miko isn't a fan of our hobby although she does make the right noises when I present them with 'oh that's nice dear' and 'oooh, aren't you clever' all be it with a slightly sarcastic tone! This is part of the reason I have my own room! So I don't interfere with the day to day running of the household with my special hobby! I make her sound like a bit of a dragon! she isn't really, she's very tolerant of me and my foibles and eccentricities, I wouldn't swap her for the world!

I'm not one for stacking paints and products on shelves as can commonly be seen in modelling rooms, I like all my modelling paraphernalia nicely put away in cupboards drawers and boxes, neat and clean lines without clutter, a bit OCD perhaps but, tidy space tiny mind, as they say!

I've invested a lot of time and money in my half a century of modelling, and I'm looking forward to continuing for many more decades, I certainly have the stash for it!
So it's time to get those builds of the shelf, or more accurately 'box' of doom and get them finished before starting something new! (famous last words!)

Miko (I'm beginning to suspect I do have more money than sense as asserted by missus Miko!?)
