Dear guys,

It's great to be posting again tonight! I have a few really neat (At least I think ) of my new cockpit for the AH6. I used a flat black spray with a paint thinner wash (Poor man's toothbrush) and then a brushed aluminum application using a chopped up hairy stick.

Let me know what you think...If it's total junk, let me know! You guys are the pros!

That looks quite tidy to me, it can be hard to get a decent weathering/worn effect on black that looks realistic .

Looking forward to seeing the whole bird when finished.

As I learn the technique, I have to agree...getting a good metal finish on black is really really difficult. Do you have any good tips?

Sometimes a grey wash looks better than a silver drybrush on matt black (or any drak colour really), over the grey you can add a rusty coloured wash in crevices and recesses to add a little corrosion effect. You can add a small amount of silver/gunmetal to the grey to give it a metalic look.

used this technique on the storage boxes and floor pan on this carrier, I think it looks effective.

i like using citadels `bolt gun metal`colour,as i think its look is good as there is like a light dark colour through it,dry brushed that is

Thats what i use Ole, got tons of citadel paints left from when i used to paint fantasy figures more often.

i got a leaflet from the local hobby shop with the new range of colours,OMG there is some good flesh tones and metallic ones also there is a range of colours for making burnished metal and making metals look hot
