Sorry to be nosey but is that a poacher rolls up there and what is the car on the top of the glass case and what scale is it, it dwarfs the cars beneath it which I assume are 1/24-25.

Hello there....

Yes, it is a Pocher Rolls Royce Phantom Torpedo.

I've posted a few pics of it here somewhere and there is a PDF build diary with loads of pictures you can download here:

http://www.scale-models.co.uk/community/threads/building-a-classic-pocher-model-car.27379/

The cars on top of the glass cases are a 1/8 Revell Corvette Stingray and a 1/10 Aston Martin DBS.

What a great space, and some very nice display cabinets. The models aren't bad, either ;) Supportive, encouraging wives are awesome.

I have now had a very good look at your pdf build report. I gave me a few tips for my current RR Phantom II (1934) (Revell 1:16). What a stupendous effort, with such a magnificent result! The detail: springs under the seats; door latches, separate pistons and overhead valve gear; linkages; brake shoes and their springs; individual wheel spokes with individual nipples; lights that work. And 22" long! Congratulations!

Hello, I am new to the forum as far as posting goes and I am currently interested in the large scale cars. I am building a Pocher Mercedes at the moment and I can't help but notice that your work surface seems awfully small for building the large scale vehicles that I have seen you build. How do you manage with such large projects and all the parts? I love your space and your completed projects your work is first rate!!

Many thanks for the kind words.

Yes, the Pocher Rolls Royce was a 'challenge' on the table, at around 29" long. (Not 22" as mentioned above)

I keep all the parts etc well and truly off the table, apart from the piece I'm currently working on.

When the Rolls was getting 'bigger', it was a bit tight at times but not a real problem.

The trouble with the 1/8 models, is that once you've built one even 1/12 scale seems small.

I'm getting more into scratch building my own now and the green C Type - part finished in the pics above - is now complete, I've almost finished a short nose D Type - there's a build thread here somewhere - and I'm getting stuff sorted for an Aston Martin DBR 1.

All 1/8 scale.

Keeps me busy......

Roy.
