Update
Hi chaps

Thank you all for your kind words and comments

I have spent 2 and a bit days in hospital ct scans and Mri scan vision tests etc and the result was they say I have had a mini stroke but am on the mend ( some time off work to re cooperate but should be ok in a couple of weeks. But of a shock and an eye opener to me and my loved ones but that is an action that now I have to look after myself a bit better ( more tablets etc to take and more ongoing tests but as my lovely wife says " they ain't taking my Bertie just yet.

Got to make a few small changes like more small walks and a bit more healthy eating and less stress ( I'm married how can I reduce the stress!!!!

Thanks again for your kind words

Robert
Good for you Rob!

You know why wives generally don't suffer with stress? They're immune 'cos they're carriers!

Glad to hear they found your problem though any kind of stroke is very serious, just follow the docs plans {seriously this time} not as young as we used to be. Have had two arterial stints put in a few years back to clear a blockage but all is well now. I just keep the bacon, cigars and vodka flowing to keep all in check:rolleyes: don't need an exercise program, log, cut and split wood all summer to prepare for winter {sometime next week:D} View attachment 112945

Well, my problem is I'm a pessimist and worry about things that might go wrong, and when they do (especially medical ones) I WORRY. I keep telling myself that the worst will probably not happen, but that doesn't help. The good thing is that you had prompt and efficient help. Take it as easy as you can and follow advice to the letter.

Update

The consultants at hospital have booked me in for a more in depth MRI they say it's 30 mins and can be a bit painful but they need to do it ( booked for thurs 2nd July

Fingers crossed eh

On a brighter note I bought myself a set of oils for washes etc for my models.

Can anyone help with dilutants to dilute. I've used hunbrol enamel things but consistency not good

Looking for a new thinner for oils anyone got a suggestion

Someone said linseed oil?

Robert

Hope all goes okay Robert with the new scan.

I use white spirit with my oils, it thins and acts as the carrier, once it evaporates off you are just left with the pigment-also you can sponge it or thin even more by diluting on the piece.

Si:)

I don't advise the use of linseed, it'll get sticky and take an age to dry, white spirit is absolutely perfect for the job. Just remember to keep stirring, as the very thin mixture will separate quite quickly.

once you've got the mixture to your taste, you'll wonder why you ever shelled out £4 for a pre-mixed bottle!!
