it just seemed to me that other's had misinterpreted the intention of my post.
To be honest Patrick you could read some comments either way and i don't think there was any real personal malice intended.

I myself like to be told things are wrong and the reason why (such as the way you post), beating around the bush doesn't go far in my book. I expect constructive critisism from anyone on here that has the correct information when i post on any subject, so keep it straight to the point on my account.

And please don't think you're alone with the problems - I myself am going through some difficult times too, not least in losing my job :(
Sorry to hear this mate, I think we all have some things bothering us at some stage, i myself have just been to the doctors (first time in 18 years) and he says my lungs aren't right, bags me off to hospital for a chest xray, I smoke so i'm a tad concerned ..my fault though so i deserve a bollockin' and not sympathy

Tyler sorry to divert your thread away from your modeling, just take on board what people advise and put it all to good use, hope your personal issues solve themselves and things pick up mate.

i look forward to some new pictures when your cameras up and running again.

Well as a newbie to this site this is my take on it for what it's worth. Its always difficult when writing something for it to be received in the manner it was intended which is where the smiley add ons come in handy. If you gave the same paragraph to several different people to read they would all sound and interpret it differently, If I had a pound for every text message or e mail that had been sent and misinterpreted I would be a millionare several times over. I think the important thing when delivering constructive criticism is to start on a positive note, give the criticism and then always try and finish on a positive note. I for one will value the remarks from the established experts on this site because when you get the thumbs up it will feel like you have really deserved it.

Tyler, Good to see some pics mate. Some are a bit blurry. This has the makings of an EPIC dio written all over it.

Love the Schurzen and i have a soft spot for the early panzers so i like the schlepper a lot. Well done so far.

thanks for the comments and well looks like this project is going to go on hold since I have no money for models but im still trying to think of something to put in the corner so any suggestions would be appreciated

How about a scratchbuilt house ruin? Or a bridge?

I know what you mean about having no money for models mate, My "hobby" budget is strict and swmbo controlled. Im allways on the lookout for model kit bargins and deals, For me if im having a tight week or if the swmbo account is closed instead of getting a cheaper 1:35 kit with fit issues or low detail i find myself looking at better detailed smaller scale kits. I would rather build good quality 1:72 kits over bad quality cheaper 1:35 kits. Im rambling on but good luck bro and let us decide what you put in the corner.

thanks for the tips and as for that open space ive been thinking as to what to put there and though scratch built house/bridge/etc. would be fun to do ive been doing some research I learned about how the 6th panzer army had some artillery companies that were equipped with the 21cm morser 18 and i figured having one of those out on the corner would provide some good action and to justify it it can be the tanks were in the rear and they were moving up to the front and were passing this artillery gun. Its not set in stone but I have also wanted to do a german howitzer so I figured I can throw it in right there in that open spot

well I ordered some more models a panzer IV Ausf H/J some tank crewmen relaxing a potential tank track replacement (Sd.Kfz.251/4) some panzer dunkelgelb 1943 paint and german insignia decals. Tyler first i like the whitewash on the vehicles in my view it looks like it is supposed to, remember these guys applied camouflage in the field and usually with a brush or whatever they had at hand. As fo the corner.... do you have any polystyrene sheeting from a pizza box or packing, i was thinking two walls cut out a door and abit of a window and have the corner of a destroyed and abandoned structure. By making two walls and placing it right in the corner it adds a focal point..... what do you think.

scott

Your diorama is coming on nicely Tyler.

Good pointers there from my buddy Scott too.....

You write that money is a bit tight right now, but keep in mind diorama bases can, and do, get built for next to nothing.

I rarely, if ever, buy stuff to make mine.....Take a look around the house, garage and the garden. There is a treasure chest full of stuff there.

Scott's idea of a right angled wall or structure (or two) is excellent. It doesn't have to be complicated either.

Good luck with the model,

Ron

oh its going to look mighty fine tyler

mobear

ps pic 9 that officer is sinking into your desk lol

Panzer 4 looks great, schlepper looks fantastic.

I have those decals and have used them they are good Just treat them like any other decals and they should conform and look great. Better than trying to paint the tiny lines etc lol.

Well done Executive Officer! Obviously Tyler, I'm in two minds about what to say, bearing in mind the furore I caused before!

Ok everything looks good from where I am, the only point I'd make is the bits of kit strewn across the tank's decks - this wouldn't happen because not only is it going to be jolted off in transit, but more importantly no crew member would want to slip on loose stuff when entering or leaving the vehicle quickly.

What version of Panzer 4 I'd that Tyler, is it the Ausf H? The Tamiya tank crew are a quality item, I've used them myself & as Aaron said, those decals are easier than painting! You'll probably need some decal softener though.

Cheers

Patrick

thank you for the comments and just so im understanding you correctly when youre talking about the bits of kit are you talking about on the jagdpanzer IV? and as for the figures they are indeed a quality item and the decals are good i liked them but i definitely need some decal softener because I dont have it so some decals fell off in to the dark abyss. And yes my table started eating that tank commander lol

Yeah I think it's the Jagd 4 I was referring to. Those decals look good, unfortunately I've got to paint some by hand!

Does the Academy kitchen come with shurtzën & Thoma shields Tyler?

Cheers

Patrick

Thread owner
