As most people are aware, living in London is mucho expensive - so flats tend to be small.

So here's my solution - making use of the high ceilings of my flat by building an elevated bed!

Once the bed is up top I can build a permanent workstation with plenty of stash storage!

Still a way to go yet, but I'm pleased with today's efforts - and I only cut myself once! :)

Cheers

Holy crap. Are those 2x2 joists going to hold you and a bed up??

that whole space could be turned into a nice workbench

you could always sleep on the sofa :P

I like the idea Patrick , I don`t wan`t to go all H&S on you and its your project mate , but I would double up with the horizontal wall beams - ie- under the beams you have already fixed , also I take it the timber is 4 by 2 if so I would turn the joists so the 4 inch will take the weight and double the amount ,

Thanks guys & just to reassure, the 4 x 2s will also be supported by vertical beams and they'll be tied in horizontally too.

I'm not that heavy, but I'm taking no chances!

Well what can I say Patrick, each to their own but this one occasion...

YOUR MAD!!! :confused:o_O

Lee :)

Scary stuff Patrick your a brave man but if you get hungry you can always lick the ceiling;)

But on a more serious note as others have said it looks a bit on the flimsy side. We don't want any squashed models or bad backs do we.

Be careful could cause serious injury.
