Welcome back Charlotte. I hope things are settling down a bit for you. I am sure that times must be difficult for all members of the family and a lot of stress will come to the surface during times of such a sudden loss.

We are all thinking of you and wishing you well. If you ever feel like getting anything off your chest just let us know.

I was invidulating a year 9 design and technology exam earlier today. The paper consisted of three parts, food technology, graphics and mechanisms.

I was a little suprised by some of the kids, a few hands raised up halfway through the food technology paper, the question was to list 4 different food groups along with the vegetable and animal source they are found in.

One particular student had written protein and wasn't sure what was meant by the animal source. I pointed at the example in the paper, the student then struggling to think of an animal source said "what like -dog??" another student had written "bread" and wasn't sure if bread was an animal or not!

This wasn't really that suprising a couple of weeks back i heard a couple of 6th form students (17 years old) talking to eachother. One of them said "I don't like drink milk" the other said "yeah if you think about it - you're drinking cows pee!"

The mind boggles...

Hello folks

On Monday i had allergy testing done.

I am not allergic to anything but tollerant to whole and semi skimmed milk.

Which means i am like Dad. If i was to drink or have it i would be sick. Nice hey.

Hope everyones week has been nice and the weather hasn't been horrible like it has been here.

Hi Char,

I'm pleased to hear you have no allergies, that must be a considerable relief for you.

I have been taking any opportunity to get out on the bike, save the model bashing for the rainy times.

hrrrrm, been trying to sort out my book collection and get it packed up for moving house (35 boxes thus far!). Tried to get some work done on my Eskimo's rigging but after two hours elected to play with her in the bath instead (ballasting).

Not looking forward to shipping my model boat collection to the states...im moving out there full time in september... god help the movers if they damage any of em! Im prone to acts of primal rage when they get so much as handled wrong, the smaller ones im not worried about but the Deans kits are more of a problem. might have to build some pine and chipboard carry cases for em.

anyway, thus has been my day so far...sleepy time awaits.

Regards

TF57.

ps. Alergic reactions are a major pain in the backside... personaly im alergic to Blighty in the summer time (hay fever). For some reason i dont get it in the states which is rather weird!

Im sorry to hear about your grandads passing and you being ill. I know how that feels to loose a member of the family. Just do what i do Richard and think of the great memories and laugh at them if they make you happy. Good luck on your job finding im sure you'll find one. Keep going with your models. Im going back to college tomorrow so that will be fun. NOT!!!!.

Nice to hear from you both again, you have both been very much missed here.

Sorry to hear of your rough time Richard, having worked with people in the catering and hotel industry for a number of years now I am well aware of just how demanding and anti-social it can be. I hope you find what you are looking for and get back to modelling and posting!

Char, college was by far and above the best four years of my life. I worked hard but also played hard and developed some lasting friends and the strongest sense of belonging and comradeship I have ever known. I hope that you can get as much out of it as I did and get yourself started on a career path. At the end of the day I hope that you are happy in what you do and I am sure that is what your Dad would have wanted for you.

Welcome Back Richard & Char,

Us regulars are still here and yes we have a few new one's now too which is nice to see.

Topic of the Month seems to be the Perkasa MTB but there is nothing wrong with that, we have had quite a few posts on it already and now have more members joining as a result of doing searches for that very model.

Anyway, hope you are both keeping well and nice to see both of you back again.

At present I am sat looking at an Airfix 1/72 DH2 Beaver Fuselage next to the 1/8th R/C Version I am building...God it's SO tiny !!!.....I will have to take a pic to show you.

Regards....Mark

Hello Folks. News today is college is going great. Enjoying it and creating a website. I have been going out hitting the clubs. Work is going great. I unfortunatly didnt get my promotion. I have the new xmas temps starting this weekend and i am the one who has to train them.

More news is i can't believe how quick this year has come. I have been on here for 2 years and i have made loads of friends who have helped me through difficult times. Talking of difficult times. It will be a year since my dad (Nigel.d) has passed.

It has gone too quick.

Thanks for everything you have done on here folks you have been a big help.
