OH Gawrd one of those this is just my opinion but i h*t* these to me they dont look like they would fly but i suppoce we are all different an some like them good on you all but not for me

Nope, it's not pretty but I do like the co-axial rotor set up. Beats having a tail rotor!!!
Mind you, this is the one that worries me!! Intermeshing rotors. Two rotor heads sitting at an angle to each other and the blades going through each rotors path!!! If one gearbox fails!!!! I dread to think of what happens!!!

IIRC, there have been a number of experimental helicopters that used jets on the tips. That doesn’t counteract torque, it prevents it entirely because there is nothing pushing the fuselage the other way. I’m guessing it was never a success because of the difficulty in getting this to work reliably — you have to somehow get fuel to the rotortip jets, for one.

Your right. I think The Hughes 500 NOTAR, (NO TAil Rotor), is the best of the single rotor helicopters. A different tech that involves air ducted out of the tail area to counter the torque of the main rotors. Plod uses a H500 NOTAR here in Dorset.
