We had an amazing display last night. Here are only two of the ones we took. These were early on in the display. Sat outside for about 2 hours watching them

Very nice Al'
I live near Chester. There was a terrific display in our area last night.

This morning, our nearest neighbour sent my missus some superb and clear photos of the feenomeenum.

Unfortunately, my wife and I were both fast asleep and missed the whole show!

We missed them too!! Will see if there are any more tonight

It's G3 level tonight. Last night was the most powerful, G5. So you should be able to see them. But you'll get better colours from a camera.

You can download the Aurora watch app and it tells you when the best times are to see them.

Mother Nature's own light show! Humbling isn't it?

HI Al what time tonight about 1am or so ? as yes we also missed them last night as i love anything to do with the night sky as when younger had a 6 inch reflecktor telescope to look at saturn an jupiter an mars an such in the heavens an some time i look on the web at the site called heavens above that very good as it show where the ISS is at any given time an ive seen it with the space shuttle tryin to catch up to the ISS but that was some yrs ago so all we got to do is try an stay awake lol

We deployed to Northern Flank annually in one unit I was in - we also had some fantastic displays (and not only in Troms!). I've also been fortunate to see similar in Australia (Borealis Australis - can't remember the correct scientific name!? :sad-face: ). Nature is magnificent and very humbling.

We haven't seen the Northern Lights here in Shropshire but when we lived in Scotland we were quite often treated to some stunning displays.

They were out again last night but not as strong. Still a slight glow of greens and reds. The wonder of nature never fails to amaze me.

WELL AL i had a look at OIOO HRS an it was a bit cloudy could just see the moon through the clouds OH DEAR

I first saw them when the ship I was on was going to Sweden - quite amazing - with no light pollution, they were vivid, and I was surprised how quickly they changed.......

Sod all in Dorset. Shame because SWMBO has never seen them. Like Dave, I've seen them many times on my nautical adventures around the planet.

I didn't stay up as long last night as i knew it wasn't going to be as good as the night before.

I'm planning for this winter coming that if there is going to be a decent display and it's a clear night, i'm going to head off up onto the local mountain and watch/take pictures from there. I've got my wild camping gear so i'll be nice and toasty up there.
