Started doing some work on the wire trees. Will add the fibre then 'prune' to some sort of shape.

It's the fibre you use for making fish tank filters. It can also be found in pillows and duvets

how are you colouring the fibre Allyne ?

or are you just going to cover it with foliage ?

looks good, like the tree shape too...very realistic

Those figures look d**n good so far Allyne. A bit of dirt here an' there and a matt finish and I reckon they'll be perfect.

I'm going to spray the fibre with acrylic paint at the same time i spray the trunk and branches. I'll then attach the foliage with hairspray

Ok on that note i need to ask...

What type of hairspray do i use to attach the foliage? Or does anyone else (Ron) have any ideas what i can use?

I use dilute PVA glue or spray adhesive to attach the foliage.

If i use hairspray for anything i use the cheapo supermarket brand as it's really just an unperfumed thin acrylic laquer.

3M make a spray adhesive called Spray Mount which I used for my dio a few years back.

Hi Allyne,

May I ask how do you make your trees please, would you be able to do a tree build in the 'How To' section please...

Andy. I'll give it a go soon and upload my results for you. But basically the tree is twisted copper wire with multi-purpose polyfilla 'painted' on it to hide the twists.

And here is my first ever attempt at a tree. Looks ok I think :)
