As mentioned a couple of weeks ago moving. Running short of money & getting old.

Put house up for sale one week ago & providing all things go well sold it to day. Remarkable one week. All priced at a sensible price.

So now have to find a flat in short time. Sort out the loft. Sell junk. Sell young's sons bed (7 feet wide). Find a home for his cat. House his junk (he is in London). Sell 700 WW11 books. Stay calm, some hope, for 3 weeks until completion. Then finding time to feel sane.

God this is going to be 3 weeks of hell. Help get me out of here. Not this forum of course o no.

Laurie

Well the books are easy. We have a few people interested in those kind of books. Sell them on here....?

Super that you got the house sold so quickly. Just hope you arn't caught out with your trousers down so to speak!

Onwards and upwards Laurie, good luck house hunting, great news about the sale, good idea to offer the books for sale here. M

All the best in hunting for your new home.

Just remember you'll need to consider "Modelling space" when looking for a flat......I tell my wife that the rest of our place is all hers, as I live in 10% of it for 80% of the time, every man needs a den/shed/garage/spare room.

That was quick Laurie, all the very best of luck. This is the worst finger nail time....waiting for completion. I'm sure it will go fine.

Good wishes for a swift and conclusive search for your new home.

Thanks for all your wishes I like that.

Got a flat & we are over the moon. Not finsihed finacial negotiations but what ever they may be it is ours. Just can not miss it for a few thousand.

Fingers crossed it all keeps together. No chains so favourable. If we agree we stick by it whatever but it seems not all have that flavour.

Our last move an Estate Agent approached us after we had agree verbally a deal. £10000 extra but we told him where to go. There has to be trust somewhere & ingrained is an Englishman's word is his bond. I also include all of the Uk in that statement.

Some what cynical about that phrase. Sad.

Getting the flat is great news Laurie and it's seems to me you have the bestest of allies at your side too!

Like you, my word - also a shake of the hand, spit or no spit - is my bond, it always has been. As you correctly write, an Englishman's word should be his bond.....But unfortunately, 'Brits' are being slowly but surely shoved to one side, as are their principles.

Best of luck.

Ron

I too hope this all works out for you and your good lady.

My best wishes to you both... Fingers crossed.

Regards

Chris

Thanks men. Slight set back the people in the flat we want have been guzumped on their intended house purchase. Amazing the Estate Agent (not mine) is involved.

So waiting developments.

Thats a shame Laurie .... Gazumping isn't the most ethical thing to do (now prohibited in Scotland), i'm a great believer in oral contracts being firm.

You don't need this kind of stress, it should be nice and easy for you !

If you want to have a good old rant and use a few choice words that shouldn't appear online then send me a PM, it'll just be between us ... i won't tell a soul if you swear :) :)

A thought ?!? ...... Can you not just ask the family if they want your house and do a swap with cash your way ? ?

Thanks all.

Colin choice words. Yes a few. Watched My Cousin Vinny last night. Think that is my limit for the week.

Yes thought of the swop but first they cannot afford our house & secondly it would mean going back on my word to the couple who are buying it.

Attacking the rubbish in the loft this morning that will get a few words out of the system.

So upwards & then down to the dump.

Locked Pauline away so she does not get mixed up. O that is really terrible is it not.
