I have no experience with either of the plastic kits or the etched parts for them, but in general: it depends. Some parts will fit fine, others may be too large or too small. It largely depends on the differences between the plastic kits, probably: if, for example, Tamiya has moulded a part slightly too short and Airfix have the same thing slightly too long, then an etched part for the Airfix kit that goes in this location might not fit in the room available on the Tamiya model.
