hey you guys which is the best paint for painting photo etch structures please ?

Like Aaron says, prime it, paint it, admire it. Sometimes with bigger pieces I burnish with a fibre glass pen to key the surface.

have not real used a lot of PE but do as Aaron said, but some time i will leave bits to stand out or just rust them up with some

lemon juice, ;)

I'll have to try that one day...clever Aussie.

glad you like the idea Aaron, just rub your fingers on it first as they tend to pull off the fine coat,

so that the lemon can work, leave them for as long as you like, then when happy with the look, give a good wash, ;)

That's a top tip Monica. 1 point to you. That's 1 more than your cricket team :P

Thread owner
thanks mate i was looking to join a club or something like that depends on the funds

Thread owner
only been chairman a few weeks, hoping to turn it around , make it a real good club, it was stagnating for a few years under the old leadership as the older members lost a bit of interest. just in the process of sorting a new venue for meetings. we are displaying at the toy and train fair in wallasey at the end of march,if you wish to see what we are about. anyway sorry to divertyour thread, back to the photo etch lol

Thread owner
it's fine do you do radio control or is it just plastic kits and is the toy fair disabled friendly so i can bring the missus ?

Thread owner
no radio control i am afraid, its all plastic at the moment, although i know one of our members is a railway and scalelectrix fan. could not tell you for sure about access at the fair mate, i have never been before but it is at St marys college so would imagine there will be good access. its virtually all model railway stuff but being local to us we get to display. they used to do it at pacific road by woodside.

Thread owner
just a thought, take a look at the last two pictures on my p-51 build, that will give you an idea of the stuff we do, although most of its mine, taken at Crewe show last week

Thread owner

Thread owner
