Any progress? Right now it looks more like a submarine than a chopper!

Miko (I have one in the stash of course it will be finished in raspberry ripple)

Sorry for the late reply Miko, no, no work done to this lately. I concentrating on the Hurricane GB at the moment.

Ah, okay, mine will remain 'stashed' for now

Just a little bit more done. The blue is the wrong colour. The call-out is for gloss French blue, but Vallejo blue angel (71090) is more accurate. So I’m going to have to repaint that part.69E94304-DEE0-46D9-A161-47F2E7E2A8A4.jpeg83FAFC5C-92D2-4159-AACC-8C9689BEB197.jpeg8D40960A-7363-4373-8C4F-F1EA6ACEB939.jpeg390CDB1A-9182-498C-8266-89058D9D91E7.jpeg

A lot of work but now this old kit is looking good. Certainly wouldn't be any use to an inexperienced modeller drawn to the kit by the quirky subject and the boxart.

Nice to see this one being continued :) At least the new blue will have a good undercoat.

Ooooo....
Just found this thread and liking it

Is this an old kit or is it back in the airfix catalogue?

Always had an idea of whatiffing one of these into an raf gunship type of thing

It’s a re-release Paul in the Airfix vintage range.

Great to see this going again Ian! Quirky little thing and you have really done a fine job on it. Your last pic above makes it look like a submarine in a Sci-Fi movie. You'd never know it was, what it really is...

Prost

Great stuff!! I have one, didn't really know what to expect from it really, now I know!

Miko (it does look a bit like a submarine right now, especially if it was painted yellow!)

I quite like this, glad someone is making it. I did make one when I was in my teens. I thought it was very revolutionary at the time.
It's coming along nicely Ian.

It's a 'Classics' re-issue

Kaman in the US wanted to licence-build them, do a USMC or Air Cav in Vietnam would be just as likely
Hmm, or steal parts out of the new Chinook. A Mk.X HC.5 in Afghanistan...

Don't know what to say Ian thats one bad bag of plastic but thumbs up for kicking arse ,might be easier to build the next one as a pile of wreckage just a thought. Dave

I appreciate you building this model Ian, it tells me that I don't want to even attempt it. :smiling2: You are doing a fine job of it though, well done.
