Help!

I ubderstand that pat A and Pat B are mirrored.

BUT is it just a case of the colours beeing swoped, ie dark earth where the dark green would be. OR does it mean that the whole of the camo pattern was mirrored, so the pattern that would have been on the port wing would become the pattern on the starboard

wing. Confused?

The reason I ask is that Tamiya always shoe pattern A and I want to do a pattern B. As the aircraft I want to do has an even serial nr and thus needs pattern B....I think.

Pattern B is a mirror image of A. If you cut masks for pattern A turn them over and then put them on the other wing/side and spray the colours the same. It can actually be quite hard to visualise. I too seem to remember that early production for the RAF had odd and even serials done in the two patterns but that this was soon discontinued to ease production. I'm not sure when but it was definitely early.

Oddly a lot of P-40s camouflaged in the U.S. seem to be pattern B....I've no idea why. Curtiss definitely used masks so this may have something to do with it.
