Im going to enjoy doing this one as i am a big fan of bike racing

Quick bit of history....in 2002 the organisers of top flight bike racing did a bit of rebranding......changed name to MotoGP and changed the bike specs to 4 stroke engines in larger capacities. Before that 500cc 2 strokes were the dominant design

The Honda NSR500 was the most successful of them all.....last guy to win a world championship on it was the great Valentino Rossi.......following year its replacement was the RCV211 990cc 4 stroke.....first champion?.....Rossi

What i never knew was that in Japan they had a domestic race series using the NSR back then and this is what is in the box.....Rossi or Doohan colours would be prefered but hey ho.....cant be bothered to find alternative decals at the mo

Usual sprue shots and lets crack on

Sitrep time

Got most of it painted and made a start on assembly

To be honest its been a bit of a pain....took a couple of hours fiddling to get the engine and swinging arm to fit....and thats with a little bit of 'surgery'......not sure if its something ive done wrong or if its the way of the kit but it was a bugger to get in the frame

Next step is the forks

14099 from early 2000, if there original decals they might be a bit delicate,

And this is on hold for a bit til i can aquire some after market decals.......ones in the box are very thick yet fragile.....not impressed......im at the point of just needing to decal the fairing and body work and it all goes together

Going to look for some Rossi ones
