Hi all, Does anyone have any advice regarding what electric motor would be needed to get the above up to scale speed. I would prefer to use brushed as I have no experience of brushless.

I am confused over the correct colour scheme. Some appear to have green decks and others grey. I have also seen one with a brown deck. Does anyone have an original colour photograph or a copy of the spec from Vosper.

Thanks

hi there

i am not certain on this but i myself would use a 600 motor geared at 2:1 or 3:1 and play around with prop size.

I am also looking for a set of plans for a Perkasa 37" 1/32 scale (wood version). I would be happy to pay postage if anyone could let me borrow a set.

Why wooden hull? There are plenty of good Pekasa kits out there in grp. OK there is a certain pleasure in building the hull plank on frame.

Here is a good site for Perkasa fans, Home (www.Perkasa.co.uk)

I think you will find that nearly all Perkasa had green decks.

Hi, I have just got back into model boats after 30 years absence and at our local club bring & buy sale, I picked up a partially built wooden 49" Perkasa kit. I have been getting conflicting info on number of shafts, motors etc also the best size of motor to get it on the plane. After seeking a of of advice from various club members and shops I have decided to fit a MFA 850 with a 50mm prop and a Aquapower 280 speed controller along with a 12 volt 7.2 AH jelly battery. I have been told that this set up should give about an hour and a half running time with the occasional full power burst. As to colour scheme, I would also like some advice as I would like to finish mine as one of the Royal Navy Brave class instead as a Malaysian Perkasa. Any suggestions would be very welcome? Thanks
