I thougt i was time to kick this one off by giving a small insight tp how this one will be built,first off the scale is 1/250 and will be built up using the emty frames from and old partwork mag along with a 1/1 plan the keel and bulkheads will be made using 3mm ply but i will expain more as i build.

Conscrution will start in a couple weeks time.

I am sensing a Titanic theme in your builds Peter

I have started to have a go at this one with the bow section,having fix the frame down with some double sided tape and marked out and have started to cut but using 3mm ply its slow going as acuracy is need as i always test fit in the emty frames and to give some idea of how long it takes the piece i have done has taken 1 1/2 hours to do.

I like your thinking Peter in reusing the laser cut empty parts as templates, good thinking. Slow going aside this should build into a wonderful ship.

Have you ever thought of using the same principle to re-create the sunken bow section?

Would look awesome and would be easier to do as you can construct what you need to create the look instead of hacking, drilling, bending etc and model version that just won't look right.

Heres my latest i started some more cutting out,starting with finishing the bow and bulkheads 1 and 2 and as i cut them out i replace them back in the frames so i know that they are correct.

I have started on the planking the hull using 6mm planks its going better than i thought it would as there is no plank bending.

All the planking has been finished and sanded also there is a before and after on the bow,the last two pics show the prep work for the A and B deck sides.
