Another of these laser-cut plywood models, this one from a charity shop for a tenner:

Much thinner plywood than the Rokr locomotive I built last, just a bit over 2mm thick. The laser cutting is very precise and there's a fair amount of detail.P1180554.webp
Managed this much yesterday:

A full afternoon today and made good progress:

As you can see there's a single LED unit fixed to the floor. Runs from a USB-C connection and presumably has various lighting modes.

Well it didn't keep me busy for long:

As Joe said, a lot of fun for £10. As expected, there are 3 settings for the lights - cool white, warm white and an even warmer white, which is the setting in the photos - I didn't photograph the other settings as I don't think they'd look any different. Some of the parts later on in the build were quite loose-fitting, so I've used some of the "white latex" glue left over from my Magic Wand Shop. I might dilute some PVA and dab some on each of the joints so it can soak in.
There were quite a few spares provided, a really good use of the spare areas of plywood in case anybody was clumsy enough to break parts. No spare for the parts that I broke though!
Hardly a scale model, but a nice result. My wife wants to keep it in the sideboard so I'll need to make or buy a dust cover.
