I read in a thread a couple of days ago that railway figures and parts can be useful for you guys if you knew what the gauge was compared to scale. Well reading through one of my boat magazines I came across this very topic with the following information. This applies to all accessories including ladders etc. I have also give the height for figures for each gauge. Hope this is useful to you guys.

Gauge Scale Figure Height

Z - 1:220 - 8mm

N - 1:160 - 11mm

HO - 1:87 - 20mm

OO - 1:76 - 24mm

S - 1:64 - 28mm

O - 1:43 - 40mm

One - 1:30.5 - 59mm

G - 1:22.5 - 80mm

Cheers

Andy

I use HO gauge figures to populate OO gauge railway carriages and vehicles. They fit better but you have to cut their legs off!

The gauge/scale question is one that is asked frequently, so hopefully this helps people before they ask the question again.

There are variants. In continental Europe, gauge 1 is 1:32. So I use 1:35 models for loading wagons, and building cars (automobiles).
