ALERT, BREAKING NEWS! ALERT, BREAKING NEWS!

A Zentradi invasion fleet has been detected in orbit above Macross Island!! The city and island have been evacuated of all civilians, Earth Spacey forces are setting up a defence perimeter!

Surveillance drones have detected enemy battle pods moving through the city towards the Earth Spacey forces entrenched around the SDF1.

Here are images of a lone news photographer just out side Macross Island City Bank, taking photos of the approaching enemy Regult battle pod as it makes it was through the city after descending from orbit.....

  • The battle pod stands 15.12m tall and weighs in at 37tonnes.

This is a 30th Anniversary 1/72 scale kit from Bandai, painted in Tamiya colours, weathered using Vallejo washes & Mig pigments. The model is sealed using Vallejo matt acrylic varnish. There so much new stuff I've tried out on this kit, it will take a while to explain it all. This has resulted in it been a bit of a challenge and I've enjoyed every learning moment of it!

Please do have a look, your comments and crits will be most appreciated.

great build Gavin, like the whole look of it,the sign is great ,

very nice work with the broken pavement as well, glad to see you did it,

nice weathering on the bot, like it all alot well done, :D

Cracking dio, really like the subtle chipping and weathering. The sign is cool as well, well done

Well that's something you don't see every day!

Nice one Gavin

Lee :)

The surface effects on the pod work really well and the weathering is exellent. Great diorama and the human element of the photographer gives it some depth and life.

Thanks Richard, the battle pod on its own would not have given any sense of its actual size.

That's a cracker mate and a nice dio too. That fella round the corner is gonna het the shock of his life.

Great work Gavin awesome work on the scratch building and pavement
Ta, but in actual fact the pavement is a kit solution! :P I cheated there, but the effect was far superior to where I was heading...

The building was done using the same technique I used on WH40K buildings I've build way back when for the battle field.. ;) The mirrored windows were a flash of inspiration using left over window foil I had kicking around. :)

That is a superb job Gavin ...... I know the amount of effort that's gone into it and you've ended up with a peach matey ............ Big 10/10 for that.

I love this , the weathering is great the scene is well thought out and presented and not overdone so it doesn't take the eyes off the robot :)

The only thing to comment on is the stance it reminds me of when we were kids and we used to watch this drunk bloke return home from the pub , he used to be so drunk that he couldn't step up the kerb :D

Great piece of work well presented :)
