discussion Replacements for discontinued paints, (US navy 2 tone blue)

I've recently come back to the hobby and picked myself up a 1/48 tamiya f4u-1/2 corsair. Revell 1/48 pv-1 ventura and italeri tbm-3 avenger

i've read through the painting instructions for AS-8, AS-19 and AS-20 and all these paints appear discontinued unless in rattle can form. Revell advise making a brew of paints that require some sort of witch craft to get right.

Does anyone have any recommendation for the US navy colours, Acrylic paints are my prefered choose, I find them easier to clean if they get anywhere where not required (furnature clothing etc)

Hi Jon, in the Tamiya paint range the prefix AS is for aerosol, if you change the prefix to XS or X for example, and retain the ref number eg XS-8 you will find that this is colour you want in a jar.

Does this make sense?
