Does the film 'Kelly's Heroes' count as research? It does include a handful of Shermans and the odd US military vehicle!!

Indeed it does.Halftrack with howitzer,Mocked up Tigers,Shermans.One of my favourite filns ever along with Where Eagles dare and The Longest day.

It counts as research if you want to build a model of a vehicle used in Kelly’s Heroes I intend to build one of the Shermans from it at some point … Off the top of my head, they were M4A3 (75 mm) VVSS wet-storage tanks* with a 76 mm gun installed in place of the 75 mm, and some “upgrades” for the movie :smiling3:

* That is to say, Shermans with a Ford GAA V8 petrol engine, the revised glacis plate with “big” hatches for the driver and assistant driver, the old type of turret and the original suspension type.

I did a bit of research to get the pink on the a**e end of my 'Tiger' summat like it was in the fillum!



OOPS! Unsolicited image, but the temptation for a bit of fun was just too much.......

Would the mods' kindly remove the pickie at their leisure, if you choose to do so.
