What is the best and easiest way of removng the "plug" on resin parts?

my F-16 seat has quite a large one that is a big square on the bottom which is the thickness of the whole thing so i cant get through it with my normal knife.

A very fine saw. Not a junior hacksaw as that has too much of a set on it but something like an X-acto saw, sometimes refered to as a razor saw.

does it stop the seat from sitting correctly or is it seen at all?

if its not why bother removeing it

or is a case ofi know its there

if i left it on the seat would sit about 8mm too high!!!

Take off the larger chunk of plug with a razor saw,then work at the excess with a Swiss type file,be careful to not breathe in the resin dust.

In any circumstances whereby you cannot get to the part with a saw,try drilling small chain holes into the resin with your Dremel,weaken it and break the lump away,then finish with the file,wok carefully and slowly.

This very useful technique is called chain drilling,it is also ideal for cutting internally into any material,say when there is a circle that you need to remove.
