One of the ideas put forward for next years build calender really got my juices going. As it didn't make it on to the final list I hope no one minds if I crack on and do this dio.

I am going to have an SAS jeep and an Hanomag looking a bit sorry for themselves in a barn. I do have a few ideas for barn finds but am going to do this one first as it is quite a while since I last did any armour.

I have already started painting the jeep parts as can be seen below and am also going to run the mag alongside. So plenty of painting and weathering to do. I am using revels rust colour to prime the kits. View attachment 90433

Sounds really interesting!!

And I have a jeep on my stash, so I will follow this one with interest ;)
 
I agree with both Si, and Polux, should be a good and interesting build, will be keeping an eye on this one, ;)

Cheers guys n gal I have wanted to get back in to the armour side of things for a while and this is right up my street. I can feel a whole lot of scratch building coming on.

This after noon I have added a bit more rusting colour and tonight am going to add a pinch of salt. I have cut away part of the Hanomag floor prior to fixing as I have a couple of ideas for this area.

i use the salt alot as i do real like the effect that you get and each time is so much diffidence,

a bit like a box of chocolates :D

Great work, this is going to be different, the rusted finish is excellent.
 
This looks great Terry, I like it mate. The salt technique is fun isn't it? It isn't as precise as the hairspray chipping but I find it a lot easier to do and works better for larger areas.

Thanks all for the encouragement on my first attempts at using the salt method I think it will be getting used quite a bit more in the future.
