Hi Guys,

I fancied a change of pace from my usual fare, so broke this one out of the stash. It was a 2 kit starter set, I built the first one a couple of years ago when I first got into modelling so it will be interesting to see how (if) I have improved since then. :smiling3:

So far I've only washed the sprues and removed the nasty chrome from the wheels and exhaust tips. I'm planning on using C1 metalizer for these, hopefully they should look quite good.

I'm having trouble uploading pics since teh server change, but here are a couple of the sprues.

Made a start tonight by building and painting the engine, some sub-assemblies, the sub frame and floor panel.

Have driven a couple when I worked for a European Motorsports dealer. 1991 Testarossa paddle shifter was the most exotic. Never drove this one though. The Enzo is my favorite of them all. Huge power for a street Ferrari and beautiful coachwork. PaulE

I'm not really a Ferrari fan, but this is certainly a good looking motor.

I certainly would never own one, but they can be fun to thrash about and the engineering is pretty cool. Not nearly as exciting as an L88 Corvette though. PaulE

The 'Testiklroaster' I drove was a "boxer" 12 cylinder & about 2 litres smaller so this beast has to have many more smiles per mile. PaulE

I remember when the lowly Dino could be had for a measley $10,000 US Dollars. My neighbor Tony ordered his F40 and waited six months and $500,000 later owned one of the first in the SF. Bay area. How times have changed. Rick H.

I was once offered one for £500!

It had dropped a valve at high speed on an autostrada, somersaulted, hit a tree, and caught fire. There wasn't much left! The main item of value was the commission plate, since without that, Ferrari wouldn't sell you spares.

Estimated by the Italian police to be over 250 kph.

About the Enzo - I was told off by a tour guide at the Galleria Ferrari in Modena - I was grovelling on the floor next to the Enzo, trying to feel the width of the rear tyre, but she thought I might be trying to open the door. The door swivels upwards, and they displayed it under a roof girder that the door would have hit if opened fully! Fascinating place, but I didn't have a camera with me. :worried:

Almost finished the engine. Getting the exhaust pipes and box on was massive pain in the backside.

Completed most of the back end today.

First up was fitting the driveshafts, a arms, hubs and transverse shock absorbers. Next was the bulkhead. I wanted to replicate the heat shielding on the real car so used the foil from a cigarette packet.

Once installed I could then fit the air box to the top of the engine.
