Hi all,

Well I have finally finished this after 196 hours. A bit of a curates egg this kit, the chassis, suspension, engine, running gear and interior fit together with nary a problem. The problems for me started when assembling the body panels (painted and cleared) around the interior tub, the locating tabs, pins and slots were vague and sparse so I had major problems and hence the poor body panel gaps on the finished model.

The 4 colour flip paint worked very well however the shape is too slab sided to get the full effect but if you look at the images you can see some variations.

All in all a fairly enjoyable build but I don't think I will be doing another truck in the foreseeable future.

As usual any comments and criticisms welcome.

That paint looks excellent. Agree that the trucks cabs can be a burger to get shut but I have found I enjoy the challenge. A thing to remember is that unlike cars, the body of a modern truck is not one part. The passenger compartment is independent from the Front and lower sides. So there is a sizable gap to allow the cab to ride on its suspension.
A great result when all is said and done.

Thank you everybody for the positive comments and likes, makes me feel that the result is not as bad as I thought.

I totally love that. I keep toying with the idea of building a large scale truck (I have done for years) and I find builds like this totally inspirational and bad for my wallet! Excellent work - I'm sure when you do get around to building another it'll be a stunner also.

Arnold, thank you for the kind words. Yes truck's are impressive when finished but can make you tear your hair out (I'm virtually bald). The good thing is it made me think differently and find alternative techniques/solutions.
Watch ebay for kits, I paid £32.00 delivered for this one.

Lol! I consider myself forewarned! :smiling: I do have long hair though so I should be okay!

Wow, Stefan that finish and detailing is about as good as you could want.
Full committee meeting and every one agreed its

Many many thanks to the committee and yourself for the award, might just have to do another truck sometime.
