NF698 served with No.835 Squadron Fleet Air Arm. In July 1944, whilst being flown by Sub Lieutenant Sam Mearns, NF698 ‘7D’, in company with another Sea Hurricane, attacked two Junkers 290 and downed one, coded 9V+GK (WrN 164) and flown by a Leutnant Kurt Nonneberg. Four of the crew were picked up after the aircraft broke up on impact with the sea. This was the last Hurricane aerial victory of the Second World War.

Apologies for the photos, white is a real bugger to photograph.

HMS Nairana with the white Sea Hurricanes on No.835 Squadron on deck. You can see how small some of these escort carriers were.

Nice Hurricane in an unusual colour scheme.I see you've painted the nav lights in the correct colours as well!.

Two in one day great stuff Joe I really like this one and I think I'll do my next one in this scheme it does look cool :)

Nice to see the Hurri in a rarer paint scheme.

Thanks guys. The decal paper on the canopy framing worked well.

Really nice Joe, and as others have said, a great scheme. I made the land version of this a couple of years ago, and found it a joy to build - apart from the step at the wing root, which you found a smart solution for.

The White is a change from the usual Camo! colours, & looking Good Joe.

John.

Must be Hurricane season, there seem to be a few on the forums at the moment. Yours looks great Joe, love the white scheme (sometimes all-white models can look toy-like, but you've managed to avoid that).

Good job Joe, and I agree on the complexity of painting a white plane in a realistic way.

Also for me it's the first time with a white Hurricane, very interesting model.

Francesco

That's really smart in that white scheme Joe. I bet they were buggers to keep clean.
