Hi everyone. Just wanted to know what most people do about swastikas on Revell models? After trawling the interweb last night it only came to light why I have crosses on my decals which is perfectly fair enough. Do people buy after market kits, not bother or paint over them?

Thanks, Mike

Mike you can by sheets of swastikas in the different scales. They will have a selection of sizes and styles to suit your subject.

Some kits do contain swastikas but then,at least in theory, they can't be sold in Germany (and a few other territories). Some try and get around the law by printing them in two pieces on the decal sheet.

I just recently re-stocked with another 1/32 sheet from Hannants. It cost less than a tenner and will keep me going for a while.

Cheers

Stona, once again thanks for the advise. They are so small (yellow) - where the successful strikes are marked underneath the cockpit, that I might see if a cocktail stick will work with a flick of yellow, and get some ordered.

Hi Mike,I was referring to the national markings on the vertical surfaces (usually fins) of Luftwaffe aircraft rather than the 'kill' or mission markings. Those you may have to paint. Sorry if I caused you any confusion,it must be last night's white wine!

Not at all - I didnt know that that company existed and it's opened up my mind to creating aircraft in colour schemes and markings other than those "in the box", I have already started looking at post production kits such as alternative cockpits and weapons for stuff so this is cool. So your advise was useful anyway.

Cheers

Don't forget to check the 'forum' shop at the top of the page. He has also started to stock decals.

The more we buy the more he'll stock.

Yeah I did look there - I think like Steve said it is a paint job rather than decals!
