Hi,

I need a little advice - I am about to commence the Revel QM2, possibly converting to Rc but..... in the instructions to be read before I start it suggests that i need two pens, one black, one silver. These are used to define the windows etc. and are not supplied with the kit. I have tried various types of pen with very little success - has anyone any suggestions as to what type of pen I should be using?

Overhead projector pens may do the trick - the ones in the lnk are fine. I believe you can get extra fine too. Two types available. The ones in the link are permanent and they really are. Staples and other stationEry places do them.

You can buy paint pens of varying sized ends and colours. The larger ones have a rattle bead in them and are more of an applicator than a pen. A quick search of the internet shows that there are various shops around the UK selling them. I think I picked my last one up at the local supermarket.

Thanks Flyjoe180 and AVB99 for the suggestions - I've looked on the internet at Staples and some of their products are marked as 'permenant' but when you read the small print they are actually water based??? as the parts to be painted with a thin black line are a bit on the small side and if I do r/c the ship the chances of water ingressing is a strong possibility. I think I'll head to my local Staples and have a chat first and if I get no luck there I'll try the internet again. Thanks again guys

I use these pens at work. There are two types permamnet and non-permanent. The permanet really are permanent. When I get the ink on my shirts it never comes off even after dozens of washes in the washing machine.

Best wishes
