RIP Donald, truly the "greatest" generation IMHO....
My Dad was out in Burma, he fought at Kohima, never talked about it much, had a couple of Uncles who fought in WW2 as well.
They all seemed to have a quiet confidence about themselves and were all men that you looked up to....
We should be teaching all our history to our kids, grankids, etc, but not sure that we are though.....
