Rivets on a king tiger side skirts

I'm building a 1/35 KT and I've noticed the skirts over the tracks have rivets I was modernity if these were just riveted on or welded as well ,

I want to do an abandoned wreck so it would look better if I could fit it a little scued

They were only riveted on Alan, being thin sheet (5mm).

Many King Tigers had the fenders removed by 1945, ones used by SS units in Hungary show this a lot.

Thanks mate that helps a lot now I can give it a real worn abandoned look like rivets have popped :)
