A bit late but here are some photos of the U47 that I built in 2008. Sadly due to my failing health issues the size & weight of the model with all the r/c equipment & batteries it was to much for me to go any further with the model.

Not being able to carry out the first "Sea Trials" I put it up for sale & never got to see if it would "Dive" & more importantly "Surface" after the Dive. lol.

Hope you like the photos....View attachment 98024

What a shame that you haven't been able to see the fruition of your skills

The Robbe kit from what I have been told isn't the best to work with, however you have produced a remarkable model.

Well done sir.

Gregg

Great build John, and it is a pity you never got to see it in action so to speak

Yes Gregg it is a big shame that I never got to see it both On & Under the water, but just building it was a great help to me during a time I was in & out of hospital a lot ..

Thank you for commenting on my build Gregg...

Great looking build John. I reckon the new owner would be very happy indeed with this.
Thanks Joe, I would hope he is very happy with it after driving from the North of England to South Wales to collect it..At least I still have the photos to remind me of my work..

Yes me too Ian, really like the under water shot where the boat slowly appears out of the murky gloom head on to the camera, the sound track makes it so menacing.

It does not matter that it is a German film with sub-titles still a great film showing how life really was in a U-Boat.

Thanks for the comment Steve, sadly the pics do not show how much work was done on the internals to fit all the R/C equipment to it.

I have found a few photos taken during the build if you look at the second photo the frame for the R/C equipment it all had to be cut out of a flat sheet of plastic/upvc with just the outline stamped into it.

The same had to be done for all x-members & bulkheads...View attachment 98186

Yes Monica that frame holds the 2 batteries, the 2 motors & the RC control servos plus the wiring.
