I was wandering around in the model shop today and saw a 1/72 Roden Staaken marked down to £19.99, I was tempted but passed by. Should I have got it. Has anyone done one? It looked a bit of a job.

I've not built one but everything I've read and heard about the kit would suggest it is a fairly challenging build,let's not mention the decals. Having said that you've got a great price there and the kit does build into a very impressive model. It should do,an eighteen wheeler with a forty something metre wing span!

Yes, it looks a substantial build, I'm still very tempted but can't imagine where i could put it once built. Perhaps I could just fondle the box every now and then and then put it back on the pile.

If you can get it past the management, a coffee table with a display case and glass top is great for displaying large aircraft's....Ian M
