Just caught up Paul and omg the detail is superb
Thank you Brian, glad you like it.
Missing part.....
Funnily enough I was having the same conversation with myself yesterday, looking for a part, found it and there is nothing on the instructions, but turn two pages on and there it is in place.....
I have some spare bar armour if you want it, enough for the top, it is what remains of some I did not use on my Challenger, just let me know.
Mike, I have ordered some 0.2 x 2mm brass strip and will have a go at making my own. So a 3 counties wide swear warning will be in place for the duration.
Excellent details.
Thank you Paul.

This must be a pain to prep for train/road transport given the width of the added armour.

The rear shackles had all the moulded detail removed. The correct type of storage was fabricated from thin strips of brass sheet, punched nut detail and plastic rod. I left one of the shackles off just for a bit of interest.

This is a large vehicle with lots of things to damage when handling. Then I had a brainwave and I don't know why I haven't thought of it before. I had a camera stand that I don't use and by drilling and tapping a whole in the bottom of the kit I have the perfect adjustable and very stable stand.

And we all sit here scratching our heads in wonder, and now digging deep into the back of the wardrobe looking for that defunct camera stand.....

At long last all the building is done and all sub assemblies have been completed. Each of the assemblies have been left off to allow for easier painting and detailing. I decided to use the kit bar armour even though it is a bit chunky. I did have a go at making my own from brass strip. The frames and horizontal slats were easy enough to make and solder up the problem was adding the vertical spacers. I had nothing that would cut the slots to allow the horizontal slats to notch into.

The smaller items such as wing mirrors etc will be added when all is done.

I have had a play with the spade, but I might redo it.

It has received the camouflage colours of NATO green and NATO brown. when this had dried a gloss coat was applied. Then the decals were applied. This will dry over night then I can start the washes etc.

Apart from the tracks I am calling this done. If I am honest I am disappointed with this and I'm not saying this to get a response, I had something very different in my mind for how it would turn out. The kit tracks are the rubber variety and I'm not a fan of these. Given the fact I am not happy I'm not sure I want to spend money on after market ones. I will have a look at the price and ease of assembly before I decide.

Before I put the pictures up, and I'm sorry there are a few. I would like to thank everyone for your great comments and support along the way.

I will put one picture here the remainder in the section. Finished
