Anyone ever done one of these ?

My bro in law collects model vans/trucks and is a keen scrap collector (real size). Not one of the 'new breed' !! he has done it for years. he has gypsy blood !!

I would love to build him a scrap yard dio as a present, as he is such a fantastic bloke. has anyone ever done one that can offer any advise ?
 
I would suggest a search for posts made by a member called Tiking. He has done a few.
