Hi to all friends!!

I have discovered how much I like to build large scale models, (jeep willys and panzer II at 1/6 scale) and I have in mention to do ,probably, a plane. A big plane... Minimum to scale 1/24!!

Does someone know if there are more variety of sizes? And with good details?

Are RC planes a possibility? Or simply you can comment some interesting brand with good planes?

Thank you very much if you can help or guide me!! I have been very grateful by everything!!

Best regards

LOL

How big do you want it.

If you have not seen it you should look at this being built right here on the forum.

As you can also see here there are a few plastic kits in 1/24 and surprisingly many aftermarket parts for them.

If you want a decent 1/24 kit then the Airfix Bf 109 and Ju 87 are good starting points. The Spitfire,Hurricane,Fw 190 and P-51 are decent too. They can all be dolled up with lots of extras as they are fairly basic OOB.

Cheers

Thank you very much Steve.

What do you think about Dragon and Trumpeter??? Are Ok for planes??

I love the Ju87, but is and old Kit, isn't it??

I've not built any of the Trumpeter 1/24 kits so I'd try to find a good review, maybe on LSP (large scale planes).

The Ju 87 is an older kit but,at least in my opinion,is the best of the Airfix 1/24s. It's the only one that can reasonably be built OOB,It has a decent interior and a good engine. There's still plenty of scope for extra detailing if you want to do it.

There used to be some decals available for it though at this scale I would consider masks.

EDIT

I completely forgot the Airfix 1/24 Mosquito! Some consider this to be Airfix's best kit in any scale.

Cheers

Steve

The 1/24 Airfix Mossie, Stuka and FW190 kits are the best ones to get for value for money imho

Thank you very much for this advice Steve and Allye.

Mmmm... I think the Ju will be my best option.

Thanks for all friends

Most RC scale planes start at 1/6 scale and tend to be compromised in accuracy to make them fly better. For example, many Spitfires have larger fin/rudders.

Is an option I like too.
