Hello everyone,
I'd like to share my next project: the Trumpeter 1:48 Shenyang FT-6 (JJ-6) Trainer, the two-seat conversion trainer derived from the famous Shenyang J-6, itself the Chinese-built version of the MiG-19.
For this build, I plan to represent a PLAAF (People's Liberation Army Air Force) aircraft, finished in the classic natural metal scheme with Chinese national markings.
The Trumpeter kit looks like a solid basis straight from the box, although I may add some extra detailing to the cockpit and landing gear bays to better capture the look of this interesting Cold War trainer.

The aircraft I intend to model is PLAAF Shenyang JJ-6 serial 41483 (construction number 8008), a two-seat trainer derived from the J-6 fighter, itself the Chinese-built MiG-19. Today the aircraft is preserved at the China Aviation Museum in Datangshan, near Beijing, where it wears its classic natural metal finish with red tactical numbers and standard PLAAF markings. Although little information about its operational service has surfaced, it represents a typical example of the trainer that prepared generations of Chinese fighter pilots during the Cold War
Comments, references, and suggestions are always welcome!
A quick look inside the box:
