AN ABOVE Jen with her ration book an she had to get it stamped in differnt shops then hand it in to be in a grand draw which she did an every one put so much effort into their 1940 outfits so it was a grand day out

That looks as if it was cracking day out. Makes me wish I hadn't thrown all my service kit out. I could have turned up as Leading Seaman Goldstein!!! :thumb2: :smiling2:

Any Glen Millar music or weren't they 'in the mood'!!! (Oooooooo that was bad!!) :smiling5:

Oh dear, Naval chap, (Lieutenant) not in the correct rig. I believe WW2 officers wore a coloured stripe in-between their gold ones to show what specialisation they were. IE Red strip signified a medical officer, green - electrical and so on!!

Twas only me being a pedant buddy. I certainly looked a brilliant day and, end of the day - who cares if the uniforms aren't spot on as long as folk had a good time.
I had a mate, (serving), who would dress up as an Admiral and used to stand on the bridge roof and take the salutes when passing other vessels. If they'd bothered looking they would have seen he had twice the number of rings than the Admiral of the Fleet.

A PS bit, The navy chap wasn't a real navy chap so it doesn't matter anyway!!! :thumb2: :rolling: :smiling5:
