Went into town with the wife the other day to get some new blade's for my scalpel, to my surprise she picked up a model & asked do you want this one, not to look a gift horse in the mouth i said yes, then to my amazement she picked up a model car & said i want to build this one with you'r help, after I picked my jaw up of the floor I agreed.

First photo is the kit i have the second one is what she picked.

Hears to many hours of fun.

I have a feeling this could go one of two ways, a bit like teaching your spouse / kids to drive !!, swimmingly well or divorce courts . haha  xD O.o

Oh slippery slope, what if she starts wanting to use your paint, favourite brush? Leaves the lid off the paint or worse dabs a brush previously used for white into a tin of black with out cleaning it inbetween then leaves the brush to dry  :(

Only kidding hope you enjoy the hobby together, wish I could convince my missus, all I get is I'm bored, i say how about having a goat one of these I get "you've got to be joking" or I say painting, no drawing,  no origami, no macrame, no whatever I suggest it's no then half an hour later I hear I'm bored. If my missus made even the tiniest hint she might like to try it I would buy her whatever she wanted. Alas i can't see that happening before hell freezes over.

Two very nice kits John, but no falling out over who has the glue and sanders first.

very nice buys John, real like the Tiger, and the beetle should be a fun build, :D

my first car was a 64,beetle,and the doors would ,just pop open when driving , :/

Ok then here we go wip, made a slow start, she was very excited when i told her it's time to make a start & the box was open in a jiffy& spread all over the table.

Then came the questions whats this , whats this for, what dose this do. & where dose this go, at this point I decided it was time for a cup of coffee & left her to ponder over the mass of plastic in front of her & the instructions.

After 10 min's we eventually got round to doing some building.

John.

the good thing is at least its a tamiya kit so there shouldnt be any frustrating moments to put her off

Ok day two, started to paint the engine before attaching the rest of it, the first thing she asked for is gloves so she wont get paint on her hands & nail's.

Well that's not going to happen so get on with it & wash you'r hand's after it come's off with water.

Thank's Ken for you'r kind comment, a little OTT me think's but thank you all the same.

John

Does Cindy do her own nails ? If so, looks like she will be more than able for serious detailing. I mean, she could probably paint the wheel nuts of the Beetle.
