Still a bit more paint and weathering to do yet…..the enamel based stuff takes a while to dry and I like to add layers to build it up rather then slap it all on in one go.

I used some Tamiya smoke (X-19) on the window areas to tone them down. Never tried this before and may require further tweaking about one dry….

That is exactly what I had in mind that I would do if it were my model It should both darken the windows and add depth by ending up thicker/darker along the frames than in the middle. From the photo, I’d say it’s succeeded pretty well.

In hindsight I would of got the wet pallet out and just blended in the depth, but I’m reasonably happy with this for 1/72

Too much work for my liking if I can achieve much the same effect with one coat of translucent paint
