I've almost finished this aircraft but ran into a couple of small snags if anyone could help. The decals are very fragile and some have disintegrated, I have some spare on the same sheet but how do I get the ones already on the aircraft off. I have laid them on a slight brushing of klear. Also I have read that a thin coat of klear on the remaining decal sheet should strengthen them up, is this right?.

A few pics below. In painting this one used Rons tips and seemed to do a better job than usual.

I have rad that you could try and remove the decals by putting some maskingtape over them and pulling it off.....for the success I can't say.

Any coat of clear varnish over the decals should be able to protect them I recon.

Nice build you did there, I did their F4 corsair and it was a nightmare, nothing fit on it!

If you have not varnished over the decals then Microsol will soften them up, may take a few applications. You should then be able to wipe them of with a damp piece of kitchen towel. The people that do Microsol also do a Liquid Decal Film, a type of varnish specialy prepared for restoring decals, have a read at the description in the shop

Thanks for the suggestions but neither worked, it was probably the klear that was preventing anything from acting. I did try scrubbing the area with a stiffish brush loaded with klear in the hope it would soften the earlier coat but that didn't work either. I have since read on the Hyperscale site that these decals should be floated on with plenty of water as they are rather delicate. Still yet another bit of learning curve negotiated. Theuns I found the kit to go together very nicely with no gaps at all. Again thanks for the comments.
