Opening the box of worms again.

Could I have some recomendations for some aircraft kits.

All in 1/48 please!

Hawker Hurrican.

Hawker Tempest

Typhoon.

Sea fury.

If there a kit you have built, a few comments on the quality: Detail etc.

I built the Trumpeter 1/48 Sea Fury for a relative. It was a nice kit to build and looks like a Sea Fury. The rivet counters complain about some shape issues and it does have Trumpeter's notorious rivets but none of this was a problem for me. I only used the roundels from the kit decals and as I recall they were okay too.

I'd give it 7/10.

Never done a trumpeter aero so I'm going to have to ask: Trumpeter's notorius rivits? what that about!?

I've built two 1/48 Airfix Hurricane Mk.1s (kit 04102) and have to say they are nice simple kits. All except the canopy. The two i bought and the two spare canopys i got from Airfix to replace them were useless. Didn't fit and also one was only half moulded.

But if you can get a vacform canopy then i would totally recommend this kit. Detail level isn't high but in my honest opinion it was a pleasure (apart from said canopies) to build and i am tempted to buy another.

Well they are a bit overdone, and overscale. I still reckon the finished kit looks okay. Some people get a bit precious about such things!

Well I never been a rivit counter, so fine for me then.

Darn this group build thing. Aircraft are quite a blast to do.

I happened to talk to a friend this morning who has just finished the Hasegawa 1/48 Hurricane Mk1. He describes it as excellent so,knowing him,it must be good!
